I am using a chessup2 board + the Iphone App. I am starting a new game against AI, choosing a FEN string, placing the pieces but then I cannot make any move either on the app or on the board.
On the board no suggestions are shown when I touch a piece and when I move the piece the old square is solid purple and the new square where the piece is moved is flashing purple. Also when I just press the piece the square is solid purple and the app detects the piece and shows the suggestions.
On the app I see the suggestions when I click a piece but there also I cannot move it. Let’s assume that in the loaded FEN it’s white’s turn to move and I play with white. Sometimes in the app the “You” section is flashing sometimes not. In either case I can’t move a white piece.
Anyone else experiencing the same problems?
Thank you.
Yes, similar thing happened last night playing a friend OTB. Game was started on iPad app but then my friend accidentally dropped some pieces over the touch screen and we had to load the game to the board from the app to resume playing. After loading the game the pieces only lit up purple, no assistance colors, etc. Then we thought well let’s resume the game just on the app, but no, the game on my iPad was “frozen”, could not move any pieces.
BTW, another issue, the controls to (Draw, go back or forward)down below the game area are going off screen on my iPad…can hardly click them and I can’t resize the screen to get the controls into view.
What I want is to be able to play a custom position (a puzzle or a position from a learning tutorial) against a configurable AI. From what I’ve seen this is already possible. It is described here (for chessup, not chessup2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIlb-4YimqA
But for me it doesn’t work. I can start a game against AI and I can load a FEN string (using the app) and setup the pieces on the board but after that I cannot move any piece. The behavior is what I’ve described in my initial post.
This will be accomplished in a flow out of the board editor. We will allow you to set it up, then choose the opponent, assistance, etc. Sorry not out with the launch software, but it is coming. The board editor flow will offer a ton of options
Temporarily the app can be used, but yeah it might not be as smooth.
The current app features are chronicled here:
I think specifically here for the load game position
