Chess.com says i abandoned while i was waiting for my opponent to move

i was playing a game (quite well sadly) and i was waiting a while for my opponent to make a move when i checked to see if something was up with the game on my browser on my PC and the game was over claiming i abandoned. very disappointing way to lose elo.
