The new app (2.2.2, iOS, new icon) works OK for chesscom auth on the board but crashes when I click the Lichess section.
This is happening for me too on both the Chessup 1 and Chessup 2 boards.
Can you walk me through the exact flow to crash it?
Should be fixable as long as we can reproduce and troubleshoot
I updated firmware to 1.1, had to add chesscom again (that was a success), and then when I click the Lichess section the app crashes. I fully reinstalled the app, but haven’t been able to login back in the app yet. Says user already registered (after I choose Apple or Facebook – they’re on same email).
P.S. registered a separate bug for the 2.2.2 app. Once I’m logged in to a new copy of the app, I’ll retry the Lichess part again.
The exact flow for me is simple.
Start the app, then click on “lichess” and it crashes. It’s independent of the board. In fact, it happens with no connected board.
Android is working fine. Start app tab lichess and I got the menu to select and start.
This happened to me too. I deleted the ChessUp app and reinstalled it. Works fine now.
I had the same problem and uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it.
- Long time Chessup 1 user, always played on Lichess.
- Chessup 2 arrives, I set up this board with the same iOS phone as I use for Chessup 1.
- One bishop does not work (support sending me a new one), so I switch back to Chessup 1.
- Opening Lichess in the Chessup app immediately crashes the app.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the Chessup app Lichess is working again and I am able to play a game on my Chessup 1.
I deleted the app on iOS and reinstalled it, but now I can’t sign-in with Apple or Facebook. Says, “An account with this email already exists, please use another one.” But I’m signing in and not registering a new account…
OK - the error message wasn’t very helpful. Since I registered via a Google account before (same email!) I had to login with the Google account.
I’m back now and the Lichess binding works again.
Is anyone able to play more than one game in a row on Lichess? Reinstalling the app does work, but it seems I have to do it before every game.
I actually have the same issue when trying to play a certain opening against AI. It only works the first time, each second time requires me to reinstall the app before I’m able to play again…
Yeah this 100% what I am experiencing as well.
From another thread, it sounds like we should just be waiting for the official Lichess support via the main ChessUp2 screen. My understanding is the current Lichess integration in the app was written for ChessUp1 and doesn’t seem to be working great with ChessUp2 yet.
There is an iOS update that was released today. Please try that and check back in.
The 2.2.3 iOS update works and is stable for me.
I’ve noticed the release notes of the iOS app only mentions “Fix for LiChess Crash”. Will check later today if it also fixes the crashes when playing against AI using the app (in order to play against certain openings)…
