Games started on the board are not recorded in the history

Or at least there’s something odd going on.
Played a game against level 1 AI, and it didn’t show in history.
Then I played OTB against a person, and when I pulled down the history to reload, I see an AI game against which shows AI1000 (which is wrong number) and I don’t see the game I just played.

The app was connected all the time.

I deleted that game to create a clear screen to do some testing, and reloaded to check, and a different AI game appeared in my list.
So I deleted that one too and did as follows:

Playing 2 player OTB

  1. I have no games in my list
  2. Have phone app connected
  3. played a 2 player game, scholars mate
  4. refreshed list in app, nothing
  5. played a 2 player, fools mate
  6. refreshed list in app, nothing
  7. played a 2 player, vienna, resigned after 3 moves as black
  8. refreshed list in app, nothing
  9. turned board off and on again
  10. refreshed list in app, nothing
  11. closed and opened the app, which then reconnected
  12. game 3 shows up in the list
  13. closed and opened the app, which then reconnected
  14. there are no games in history, had to pull/refresh the page, and game 3 showed up again

Notes:
Step 3: There’s the flashing board to indicate checkmate, however nothing on the screen, the clock is still animating, had to use the back arrow to go back.

Playing Bot Level 1

  1. Start game
  2. win game
  3. refreshed list in app, nothing
  4. turned board off and on again
  5. refreshed list in app, nothing
  6. closed and opened the app, which then reconnected
  7. closed and opened the app, which then reconnected
  8. there are no games in history, had to pull/refresh the page, and game 3 showed up again

Main 1.5.0

BB: 0.2.7
App: Android: 2.2.2 (79)

Really my main purpose in getting the board was to record over the board games so we have a record, and can analyse, and that’s not working at all.

If you start the games from the app they are all saved. For now I’m using that since I also bought it for the same reason as you did.

Me too. We can’t improve if we can’t analyze our games or at least record them. When I played my brand new Fidelity Chess Challenger 7 in the 80s, I wrote the moves on a score sheet.

Right, although I don’t want to be doing that now

At least it should just be a software update, assuming they got the hardware right! Try updating the software in your Fidelity!

Would be nice to hear from them about this issue though, as having your phone on/connected/nearby is not ideal for casual games

You can (auto) import the OTB games to the app.

  1. Open the App
  2. Press the account icon in the top right corner
  3. Navigate to Board Games
  4. Make sure you set Set Auto Import to enable auto import
  5. Press Load Board Games to manual import the OTB games saved on the board to the app for analysis.

Nice! I didn’t know about this.

It works for me but I’m not sure about the “auto” upload.

In my case it was not automatically, I had to follow your steps and upload the games manually. Either way, it’s good to know. Thanks

Try updating the software in your Fidelity!

 The Fidelity folks also offered excellent customer service but alas, no updates then or now.

Thanks! I’ll try that today.

I don’t see this option.
Under the account icon I have

  • Friends
  • Board Updates
  • General Settings
  • The option doesn’t exist under general settings.

Make sure you have the latest version of the app. I use iOS app version 2.2.4 (2). If you have the same version you should see Board Settings after clicking on the top right corner account icon.

Same here as wcndave wrote. No menu point “board settings”. Using the android version

Yes, android here too.

This is what I have on android. No such option.

This is iOS.

On Android, it starts the game import process when you navigate to the game history tab. Once the games are loaded from the board, they will show up in a second section. On occasion, you may need to pull to refresh.

With ChessUp2 we have found an issue in the import process and we are testing the solution now. That will roll out as a firmware update.

Will that be a 2.0.0, 3.0.0 or earlier?
