I understand Chess.com is the main focus at the moment for the developers, but I was wondering what the time frame for more lessons would be. I’m extremely happy with where the board and app have been going in recent months, especially since I’ve been patient with my board for almost a year now. The lessons IMO are going make this board immaculate! I also understand they will take a while to implement but any feedback on their implementation would be great. Thank you Jeff and team for making a phenomenal product and keeping us informed through this forum.

Lessons is going to be early 2024. What we have planned is going to take many months of work.
Most of the work is going into the lesson generation tool (something ChessUp users will never see). We are setting it up so we can attract top notch contributors. The most important part is that tool to make the lessons - it has to work well for the lesson makers.
So it will seem like nothing is getting down for 5~6 months and then all of a sudden there will be a ton of lesson content rolling out regularly.
The vision is that ChessUp is a platform - and lessons are a central part of that vision. We just have to pace ourselves with our resources.

Opening practice feature is releasing on Android very soon. Lessons creation platform is up and we have a content creator starting on the lesson content.

The lesson creation tool we needed is functionally complete. We are next working on onboarding creators to use the tool to make the lessons. This part will take ~2 months until the lessons are released. And from there, we will expand the lessons each month.
The schedule is more solid now with the tools in place.

According to this article, practicing tactics using an e-board, physically moving the pieces, can benefit an OTB player more than practicing on the screen. Are there any plans for tactics lessons? I would be very interested in this.

So, two months have passed. Are you still on schedule? I haven’t seen any updates to the lesson section yet. I really hope things start to roll soon. I really would wish the updates were more frequent. Chess.com has been in beta for quite some time now. Shouldn’t it soon be completed, especially when you’re shipping out Chessup2 with focus on its integration?

Chess.com works really well and is out of Beta. It is just labeled that way in the app until the next app release.
The new lessons are being produced now and we are testing the Android lesson implementation currently. Not sure on the public release date yet.

Funny, I was about to ask when chessdotcom would be out of beta and when you would continue working on the lessons. I guess this post covers it😊

End of 2024… how about an honest update on Lessons (from the App) for the original ChessUp (via Android) - not Chess*com, not Chessup 2.

10 new style lessons done, Android is now lesson capable and we will push that out soon. Lesson production is 1~2 per week from here
iOS has to be updated for the new lesson format but that is a minor change, just waiting on that.
Just wondering why chess.com is still listed as in beta. I thought it should be removed in the app update.
