Edit: I had to turn the power off during a game with the bot and when I turned it back on the game had not been saved but the board started ok. So I’ll leave this here just in case anyone else was wondering. The original post is below this …
If I am playing a ChessUp 2 bot on the chessup board and I am part way through the game, is the game saved if I turn the board off and can I then just turn the board back on and the game resumes from where I left off?
I don’t want to try this because I don’t want to ‘corrupt’ anything but some games can be quite long and I get interrupted and would like to turn the board off and then just switch it back on later and resume the game. Thanks
You just need to save the game before turning off the board to continue it later.
At the onboard gameplay screens, there’s a back-arrow in the top left corner that should bring up a menu allowing you to save the game for later. The next time you start the same game type, the board should ask you if you’d like to resume it or start another.

Thanks for that, I had no idea, that’s a good feature. Thanks again

I had a similar situation where chess.com froze and the bot quit responding. I left the pieces in place and pwr-cycled the board. Then I went to board editor and was able to load the board and finish the game against the ChessUp bot. Since the board has individual piece recognition it recognized where all the pieces were and happily picked up where the chess.com bot left off with minimal effort. A happy ending to what would have otherwise been very frustrating.
