Recurrent CDC connection issues

I have been having connection issues with chess.com on the chessup2 for months now. I check the forums every now and again, see that it is reported already, wait for an update, and sometimes it is fixed after that, for a short time.

It is now already up to the point where I have to do things in a certain sequence, which then works for a short while, but the whole experience is very buggy and simply shouldn’t be acceptable for a consumer products of this price. Now when it DOES work I’m very happy with the chessup2. For now the sequence seems to be:

  1. Power on
  2. Wait for wifi connection
  3. Press chess com
  4. Wait for green chess piece to appear
  5. Play a game
  6. After game, make sure to return to the main menu
  7. Click chess com
  8. Wait for green chess piece to appear.

Now when I DON’T back out of the chess com completely after a game but just try to start another one, it won’t find any game, even though the green chess piece is there. Also, lots of power cycles need to happen, sometimes, at random moments, to make it work again.

Thanks for the report on issue.

We have a couple more improvements on the way and it will get to 100% again. We are not going to release anything this week of Christmas, but right after Christmas we will continue to iron out the API glitches with Chess.com
