Sorry - we thought we fixed this issue on a prior release, but it will be fixed Monday or Tuesday.
It is a software thing. There is nothing wrong with the white kings.
(only affects maybe 10% of boards, but all are fixable with software).

I upgraded to 0.4.9 and the problem is still there. Has anyone here experiencing this same problem found that the update fixes it?

0.4.9. does not have the fix for the white king. The bug is currently being worked on. We hope to have a new release out this week correcting this issue as well as a few others.

We have just released the firmware. Sorry it was late. Please let us know if this improves you king playability. We will continue to improve this as we work through development.

Can you please send a video of what’s going on? Also, please confirm the update happened by clicking on the settings icon and selecting “About” and make sure it says “Main: 0.5.0”.
Sure. It’s the same symptoms I showed in my bug report from the past on previous versions, but here it is with 0.5.0.

Maybe fully resetting the board could do the trick to fix it? (in the settings) Just throwing ideas, I didn’t have this issue even in 0.48 
I can report that factory resetting the board doesn’t fix the problem.
In the video it seems like the piece recognition of the piece (or square but not likely if you test in boardeditor you know) isn’t in the right place. If you move it to the edge of the square it works fine it seems. All light blinkt twice.
Strange.
Yeah, it is strange. That’s why I assumed it was a hardware issue at first, but I was told it was a software bug. But now that I still have the issue, I’m not sure.

Can you go to the board editor page and place the king in different squares (in the center of the square) and see if you have the same issue in other squares? I want to make sure the issue is with the king and not specifically the starting square for the king.
Yes I’ve tried it in the board editor (and games) and this occurs for every square.
Team will work directly with you from here to first collect some info and then replace the king - I think Justin may have already reached out directly.
