Chess.com online game with no clock

@Ramjet69 Yes, in fact, that is exactly how I have mine set. It works for both rated and unrated games on the chess.com site and pairs accordingly.

@Cornfed Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you wouldn’t just set those parameters in the settings on chess.com? Do you constantly change them?

Personally I want basically nothing to do with the mobile app except setting up the board for the first time. That’s why I had no interest in first gen Chessup. So with Chessup 2, I would hope that all basic matchmaking and playing functionality would be accessible on the board itself.

Relying on the app for these kinds of things on Chessup 2 just seems like an anachronism and would make the product feel incomplete.

In my use case, another reason is that my kid is the primary user and doesn’t have a device to access the app at all. I’m sure there are other households with multiple users who also wouldn’t have immediate access to the app.

@PGK_Studio, I generally set and leave them for long periods of time. Are you perhaps saying, the ChessUp 2 board simply follows those existing settings? If so, that would be fine.

@Cornfed I would assume it does since the board communicates with the website, but not 100% sure. @Jeff is this the case?

Mainly you are setting up new game settings with the board.

There are instances where a setting is static and attached to your chess.com or lichess account. For example, rating range is something you do not need to set everytime.

*But before I get a detail wrong - a lot of this is being sorted out right now.
